Photos At Last!

I finally found the cord to our digital camera today so I can start to blog some photos!

Here is a photo of the girls. Ashleigh got some new glasses. She chose them herself. Everyone comments on how good they look!

Look what I can do Mum!!!

Ash asked if I could do this ..... I feel sore just looking at it!!!

Trimming the Tree ...

Here is a photo of Clarice and Rudolf. The girls new teddies for Christmas this year. Very cute!

Here is a photo of Daddy trimming the tree.

Lauren was the supervisor - she stood back and told us where everything had to go.

Our House

Here are some photos of our new house! We're slowly finding spots for everything and getting settled.

Reflection ....

It amazes me how similar Ashleigh is to me.

Tonight when Ash and Lauren got out of the bath Ashleigh decided she would brush Lauren's hair and put it up in a ponytail (I'm amazed Lauren allowed her to go anywhere near her hair to be honest!). Then when we were sitting down eating dinner 10 minutes later she stopped and looked at Lauren's hair - admiring the fantastic job she had done she turned to me and said, "I think I did a really good job on Lauren's hair Mum".

I could see that would be something I would do - sit back and admire a job well done! Just the look of reflection on her face - priceless!

Well we had a busy weekend this weekend. Friday night we were supposed to go out for dinner with some friends of ours without the kids. I was really looking forward to it - sitting down and having a civilised dinner without having to wipe faces and hands and pick food up off kids laps but it wasn't to be. Lauren came down with a middle ear infection and had a temperature of 39.9 degrees so we had to cancel. I was so disappointed but that's the joys of having kids. We stayed home and watched DVDs instead because Ashleigh was at a friends house for a sleepover. We ended up having a good night anyway.

Saturday, we picked up Ash and had friends over for lunch. They arrived at midday and didn't leave until 5pm - we had too much to talk about!! Then we got a phone call from friends in Wollongong inviting us to go down and spend the night at their house - these are the friends we were supposed to go out with on Friday night so we packed our bags in 10 minutes flat and drove down Sat night.

Sunday morning we were woken by a knock on our door by Deb asking if Aaron would go and rescue some cows that had escaped out of a fence on their mother's farm. So he got dressed and drove out into the pouring rain running around a paddock chasing cows back through the fence - I wish I could have seen it!!

Sunday afternoon we went to a friends daughter's baptism in Wollongong. It was a lovely day - Aaron was exhausted but it was fun.

Today Ashleigh sang some Christmas carols at the local shops with her class. They did such a great job. Really got us into the Christmas spirit.

We still don't have the internet up on our main computer so I can't post any photos but I'm hoping it's fixed this week.

Enjoy this last week leading up to Christmas everyone!

Christmas Concert

Lauren had her very first Pre-school Christmas Concert last night. She did such a good job. She sang and danced with all of her friends and the night ended with a visit from Santa Claus!!

She has been very lucky the last couple of days. She got a book from Santa last night and today she had ANOTHER Christmas party at Homebush. It was a party for kids with special needs. She got a big kitchen set complete with pots and pans and a big soft toy - a horse!! She was so excited. There were rides galore and food provided by Subway - yum! She had such a great day. Even Ashleigh got to take the day off school to go along with her. I don't know how she managed it but Ashleigh got a present from Santa today too! She wasn't supposed to but she must have looked "special" so Santa gave her a present also! lol!

We've had an incredibly busy last couple of days so it's off to bed early tonight! Only 13 more sleeps until Santa comes!

Christmas Countdown ......

Just a quick blog to let you all know that we are doing well and settling in nicely to our new home.

We got our yearly Santa photo taken today. It's the first year Lauren has been happy to sit with Santa and not scream the house down! She actually looks out for him in shopping centres now - go figure!

Hope you are all doing well.

I'll blog again soon.

Take care.

Finally Moved!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while. We finally moved in to our new house last week and we don't have internet access yet so I'm blogging from Mum and Dad's house.

So much has happened in the past week - my head is spinning. Here's what's been going on:

Monday - packed last minute things and organised re-location of mail and utilities

Tuesday - nearly won on the Melbourne Cup. Get this, I picked the winner, the runner up and the fifth horse - didn't get the trifecta but oh so close - I could almost smell the $$$$.

Wednesday - moved house in the pouring rain. I'm not just talking a light sprinkle, I'm talking buckets of rain and then some!!! Typical!!

Thursday - unpacked and went back to Hopkins to do some cleaning and have the carpets cleaned - in the pouring rain again!

Friday - back to Hopkins to completely clean the house - the oven looked brand spanking new. I'm sure the new owners will wonder if we ever cooked the oven was so clean!

Saturday - unpacked the new place some more and took the girls to Build a Bear to buy them a house warming present. I'll take photos and post later - they are the cutest things - Rudolf the red nosed reindeer and Clarice - his girlfriend!!

Sunday - hung curtains, cleaned the side of the new house (last tenants left a crap load of crap down the side of the house)

Today - went to do some grocery shopping and re-arranged the kitchen cupboards. I didn't like the way I had unpacked them in the first place.

I'm so tired - I've been crashing in to bed at night!

Anyway, I'd better run. Aaron's in Melbourne today and tomorrow and I've got to get the kids home to bath and bed!

We Move Next Week!

So much to say, so little time so I'll make it brief.

We move into our new home next Wednesday. New address will be:

9 Yellowgum Street, Rouse Hill.

Lots of packing to do as it has come around so quickly.
I may not blog for a while as we will most likely be packing up the computer soon.

Yesterday was Halloween. As most of our stuff is already packed I didn't get to decorate but we did get to to Trick or Treating!! Pics of girls below.

Ash loved being a wicked witch - something different to the usual princess or butterfly.

Lauren took over the role of princess and loved it!! We had the good and the evil.

Got a shipment of new stock for Salt City Candles so I'm madly sorting through that today at my Manager's house - busy, busy, busy.

Got a party for Joe tonight so I'm going to be taking along a whole bunch of new stock for the party.

Anyway, I gotta run. Off to Weight Watchers - I need it!!

Mission Complete.

Well, just like the title says, we managed to clean out the garage on the weekend. And I'm not just talking about a small clean up I'm talking MASSIVE clean up!

You can actually walk into the garage and find things now! I packed about 3 boxes of stuff - and Aaron said you can't really pack anything that's in the garage!! HUH! I showed him! I think he just expected to chuck everything into the back of a truck in bits and pieces - over my dead body!! I like order and organisation!

So we still don't know what house we're going to move into yet. We've got one that we can move into next week but we're still waiting to hear back about a property we REALLY want just around the corner. So fingers crossed we'll find out today.

Man, how hot is it today? I started ironing and the sweat was almost dripping off me (not a pretty picture - sorry everyone!). We've got the air on now because Lauren's in bed asleep and she doesn't sleep very well in the heat. Thank goodness for air conditioning that's all I can say.

Not much else going on at the moment. We're just plodding on - packing up one box at a time! So until next time, happy living everyone!

Friday, October 26, 2007

Okay, so I've been a bit slack lately. I haven't blogged all week and I can honestly say that I have nothing much to report on.

I've been absolutely flat out the past week packing up the house and preparing for our big move! It's going to be sad to say goodbye to our neighbours. We've made some good friends over the years and we're going to miss saying hello to them every day. But that's the way life goes really isn't it!?

Aaron is finally back home after a week away on the Gold Coast. He actually had half a day off today which was nice.

Tomorrow is unknown at the moment but if you asked me what I'd like to do (being the practical Taurus that I am) I'd say let's clean out the garage and pack up all the "junk" and chuck out whatever Aaron will let me chuck out! But I'm sure Aaron will have other plans. We'll see - fingers crossed he'll see the value in cleaning out the garage!!!

Unfortunately, I'm finding it a bit difficult to get into the "Christmas Spirit". I'm usually starting to get excited about Christmas around this time but I have so much else on my mind that I haven't had time to get excited about it.

Don't you hate it when you go up to the shops for a specific item and when you get home you realise it's the ONE thing you forgot to get??!! Well I did it again today. It's about the third time I've done it in my life but there is NOTHING more frustrating than that! So, the cat's going to have to starve for another day 'cos I forgot the darned cat food! Thank goodness for tinned sandwich tuna for those "desperate" times!

Anyway, that's it for now chicks. Hope you all have a great weekend - I know I plan to!!!

Is It Next Week Yet?

Man I am so glad this week is coming to an end. I have had one of the worst weeks I've had in a long time.

Here are some of the reasons why:

Trying to toilet train Lauren. I washed and dried all the bed sheets on Monday this week and just after I made our bed with new clean sheets Lauren climbs up with no nappy and wees all over the bed. Do you have any idea how hard it is to change the sheets on a King size bed? I was not happy.

Then 15 minutes later she spilt all of her cereal, all over the floors that I had just finished mopping and vacuuming and all over a new outfit I bought her!!! Can you believe it?!

We missed out on a rental property I would have liked to have gotten because somebody else said that they'd pay 12 months in advance!!

The kids have been fighting all week and driving me nuts.

We didn't get to go to the Motor Show because Aaron was working the entire week. I was REALLY looking forward to going too!

One thing seemed to go wrong after another this week so I'm so glad it's coming to an end!

Next week will be better - fingers crossed!

We've got such a busy few weeks ahead of us. We will probably be moving on the 6th of November into a house in Rouse Hill. A couple of days ago our Real Estate agent rang us to tell us she had a house for rent just around the corner. We went and had a look at it and although it's nowhere near as nice as the house we're in now we'll still make it a home! So we're not taking the townhouse in Baulkham Hills now.

I've got my next door neighbour's 40th Birthday Party tonight and I have NO IDEA what I'm going to get her! Maybe a Salt City Candle???!! Who knows.

Anyway, here's to a better week this week than last!!!

We Found a House!!!

Yes, that's right, we found a house!! It's not in an ideal location but we're just so happy to have another house to go to! It's in Baulkham Hills so it's not too far away from where we are now!

We have 10 boxes already packed - let me re-phrase that - I have already packed 10 boxes! Not bad if you ask me! Only about 30 more to go!

School's back and I'm lovin life! It's great not having to clean up after the girls 5 times a day!

Not much else going on. Just thought I'd share the good news! Thanks to everybody who looked out and reported rental houses to us along the way!

Take care everyone!

Sorry for the delay....

Wow, so much to say - where do I start?

I'll start with the most recent and exciting news!

Ashleigh got her ears pierced yesterday!!

She is so excited! On Tuesday she saw her BFF get her ears pierced and wanted to get hers done at the same time but I knew that Aaron didn't want her to get her ears pierced until she was AT LEAST 12 so I had to say no. Then yesterday we were at the shops and Ashleigh told Aaron that she saw Monique get her ears pierced and out of the blue he turned to her and asked "Would you like to get your ears pierced?" With a HUGE smile on her face and eyes lit up she said "YEAH". So he said "OK, let's get them done because you've been such a good girl these holidays!"

I seriously thought she'd cry or at least scream but she just flinched and that was it! She was so brave! She has been bouncing around the house ever since!

On Tuesday we said goodbye to Aunty Mandy (or Bandy Mandy in Lauren speak) and Richard. It was very sad - Ashleigh didn't stop crying for ages after they left and kept asking why they had to go home.

We really enjoyed seeing them again. It's a shame we didn't get to spend more time with them as Aaron was working the entire time! Aunty Mandy even had the pleasure of changing one of Lauren's poo poo nappies! Lucky thing! We are counting down the days until we see everyone in January!

School holidays have flown by! I can't believe we're in October already! I walked through the shops the other day and it's full of Christmas decorations! What the heck?! Where has the year gone?

I just love the weeks and months leading up to Christmas. It's my all-time favourite time of the year! The days start getting warmer and the days start getting longer. I love it!

Anyway, have a great week ya'll!

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

We had a busy LONG weekend this weekend!

We had the family over on Sunday night. Ashleigh stole the camera and took some photos of the kids:

She even took the trouble to get somebody to take her photo with Lauren. It's actually quite a nice photo!

How hot was it today? It reached 30 degrees! Tomorrow it's going to be 34 degrees! Luckily Ash is going to a friend's house tomorrow and she has a pool!

We're going out to dinner tomorrow night for Belinda's birthday! It's her big 3-0!!

Anyway, I'd better go and clean the kitchen. Bye for now everyone!

Shopping Centre Opening!

The New Rouse Hill Shopping Centre opened today and I am very impressed!! It's fantastic having a shopping centre so close now! I don't think Aaron will think so though!

Is it just me or does everybody else get excited when a new shopping centre opens up? The shops are so shiny and new and the shelves are fully stocked! There's so much to look at! They have a fantastic play centre right next to a cafe so the kids can run around while you have lunch!! Very nice!! We like that option!

Ashleigh did a fantastic job with her performance at the opening today! She sat there and recited 2 poems on stage with her class while hundreds of people stood and watched. Ashleigh's the one right behind the microphone. No matter where I stood I couldn't get a good shot because people were standing right in front of me. The kids looked so smart in their uniforms!

It was a stinker of a day though! The sun was hot, hot, hot!!

Lauren made sure she was well prepared for the event. Stepping out in style! At least she thought she was gorgeous!

Lauren hung out with her friend Tessa from church! It was too hot to stand too close to each other as you can see!!

I'm cooking a baked dinner tonight. I don't cook baked dinner's very often (or should I say I don't cook very often full stop) so it's going to be a special treat! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

That's it for now chick-a-dees. Have a great week!

Friday, September 21, 2007

Oh Britney!

OK, so you can call me a dag but I'm really liking the new Britney Spears song Gimme More! But what a shame about her performance at the VMAs. How embarassing!!!

Anyway, I was at Ikea yesterday and there was a woman pushing a pram with another older child attached to one of those child leashes. She was busy chatting to a friend when her oldest child dropped a toy she was carrying so she stopped to pick it up but because she was attached to the leash she went flying through the air and landed flat on her face. Now as if that wasn't bad enough - her mother turned around and started yelling at her saying "What are you doing? How many times do I have to tell you to stop mucking around. Get up and behave yourself."

I should have explained to her that her child had dropped her toy and was just picking it up but I didn't. I kind of regret not saying anything but oh well.

I felt so bad for the poor kid.

It's Friday night and I can't wait to go to bed early. Pretty sad hey! Oh well, have a great weekend everyone!

Can't think of a Clever Title

I thought I'd start with some photos of me and the girls. We were just mucking around withe the camera the other day.

There's not much to report on.

Yesterday .....

Did a big clean out of cupboards and toy boxes. Chucked out a huge garbage bag of crap we don't use anymore. Yes, it took me ALL DAY to do this.

Today ....

Did some more cleaning. Vacuuming, Mopping floors etc.
Cleaned out some more cupboards.

Tomorrow .....

Driving to Newcastle with Aaron to quote a job. I'm actually looking forward to it. I don't get to see much of Aaron these days so it will be nice to 'catch up'. Both the girls are at school tomorrow so it's just us which means we will actually get a chance to have a conversation without being interrupted!

I'm starting to get into Facebook. It's amazing the people you can find on there. I've found people that I used to work with at Pfizer & Roche, people I used to hang out with as a young single adult, old friends from school (Baulkham Hills High School) and extended family members. It's a lot of fun! It's amazing how many Melanie Brown's there are out there!!

Anyway, that's it for now. Have a great week everyone!

Cheetah Chase

I got this email from Dad this week. It's so funny. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

We're off to Wollongong tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to getting away.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm loving this gorgeous weather!!

Big Flirt!

Now, I know I'm a married woman and I wouldn't change that for anything in the world but sometimes it helps to flirt in order to get stuff for free!! Right??!! Here is what happened to me last week .....

I rang Telstra to tell them I lost my mobile phone - I actually left it at the movie theatre when we went to the movies last week - not happy! Anyway, the young guy who answered my call from Customer Service was VERY friendly so I thought I'd try my luck and be a bit friendly back! Sure enough he said that I sounded like a nice person and that he'd waive my $160 early exit fee and send me a new phone! So tomorrow I get my new PURPLE phone! Yes, Aaron's not too happy with the choice of colour but who cares - I like it!!

I confessed to Aaron when he got home that I'd flirted with a guy over the phone in order to get something for nothing. Now for those of you who know Aaron well will not be surprised at his response. He said "I wouldn't care if you flashed him your tits if it got you something for free!" huh hum. Well, lucky for the customer service guy I didn't have to go that far!

On a different note - I saw a great canvas I'd love to paint last week but as we will be moving soon I have to put off the urge to go out and buy a canvas and more paints! Ho hum!

We are going to start packing tomorrow.

Aaron has the day off tomorrow so we are going to start packing. We still don't know where or when we will be moving but I want to be SUPER organised this time! We're going to start by packing up stuff we don't use - which is a lot!!

I hate moving house! We've done it 3 times since we've been married!!

Ashleigh and Lauren got a nice surprise in the mail today. A pressie from Aunty Mandy and Uncle Richard!! They just LOVE getting mail - especially when it's presents! Thanks guys - the girls loved the gifts!

Anyway, I've got a killer sore back - that's what you get for trying to wear high heel shoes after years of not wearing them!! So I'm going to lie down and try to stretch it out.

Take care everyone!!

Wildlife!

Aaron and I spent the day together today without the girls. I have to say - it was very civilised! We had a great day. We went and saw The Bourne Ultimatum and I have to say IT WAS FANTASTIC! I may even go so far as to say it was the best Bourne movie yet!!

It's funny - Matt Damon does nothing for me in other movies but in the Bourne movies he looks hot!!! Must be the bad boy thing - who knows!

The girls had a great day today also! When we went to go and pick up Lauren we found out that she had a visit from Bob Turner the Wildlife guy. Her teachers were saying that only 2 kids would allow him to put the snake around their necks and Lauren was one of them! That's our brave girl!! Didn't seem to phase her one bit. They said that she was laughing the whole time the snake was around her neck but just as they took her photo she stopped laughing - typical! She stood next to Bob for a few minutes more, centre of attention, keeping a close look at what he was doing. She loved it!! Sorry about the bad quality photo - it's a scan of a bad photo. But you get the idea!

Then when we picked up Ashleigh she told us she had a visit from the local Fire Brigade who taught her about fire safety! She loved it!

So it was a good day all around. To finish it off we are going out for dinner for Nana's last day in Australia.

Monday, September 03, 2007

Monday Madness.

Today was grocery shopping day - YUCK! If there's one thing I hate it's grocery shopping!! There was a time I actually enjoyed it but not anymore. It's more of a chore than something enjoyable. Especially when you've got kids in tow!

We had a great Father's Day yesterday! Aaron got some great pressies and we all showered him with love! Sickening really isn't it!? He deserves it though - he's such a great Dad!

Not much happening this week. We have a public holiday on Friday because of APEC so I'm going to have to figure something out to entertain Ash and Lauren.

Got some great photos of the kids the other night. They have so much fun when they get together.

Olivia wasn't too thrilled about having her photo taken but that didn't stop Lauren from posing.

Anyway, have a great week guys!

Who's The Lucky Girl Then!??!

Aaron just got home with a nice surprise for me ....

He's a keeper! Love ya babe!

Spring Is In The Air!

Well, it's officially the first day of spring today and it sure does feel like it! The air smells so sweet and the flowers look amazing!

How good has this weather been lately? Fantastic! It's a shame I've had a bad head cold the last few days and haven't had a chance to REALLY enjoy it!

Aaron's home from Newcastle today - YIPPEE!! Can't wait!

Not much planned for the weekend. We're going to Mum and Dad's for dinner tonight to celebrate Father's Day cos Dad's going away tomorrow and won't be here on Sunday.

Anyway, Happy Spring Everyone!! Bye for Now!

Goodbye ...

We said goodbye to Nanny and Poppy this morning. They're off to Queensland.

We managed to get some photos of them before they left ......

Darling Harbour

We took Mike and Sheila (Aaron's Dad and step-Mum) to Darling Harbour today. The weather was brilliant! I love going into the city - there's always something interesting to look at!

Lauren held hands with a soldier .....

And ate an ice cream.....

Here's a funny story:

Ashleigh went for a walk to the park with Sheila on the weekend. She was swinging on the swing and it started to slow down. She turned around and said to Sheila ...

"Hey, lady who's name starts with S can you push me higher?" lol.

She couldn't remember Sheila's name but she knew it started with an 'S' because she had drawn a picture of herself with Sheila the night before and asked how Sheila spelt her name.

Very cute!

We're having lots of fun having Poppy and Sheila staying with us. The girls just adore having them staying with us. We're not looking forward to saying goodbye on Wednesday.

Anyway, not much else going on with us at the moment. Hope you all have a good week!!

Confessions of a desperate mother!

I did a horrible thing today. As you all know Lauren isn't well at the moment so the sleep deprivation is starting to get to me. Tonight I was frantically trying to make dinner and help Ashleigh with her homework and keep Lauren entertained all at the same time when the stupid cat decided to come and sit right at my feet because I was chopping up chicken. He drove me nuts - I kept tripping over him and treading on his tail. Every time I kicked him to get out of the way he came STRAIGHT back again!! Stupid animal!!

Out of desperation I grabbed the spray water bottle from under the sink and squirted him on the face with water. You should've seen him run!! He did not like it one bit! But as he is so stupid he came back again so again he got sprayed in the face. After about 4 sprays he got the idea.

Then Lauren started driving me nuts - she kept screaming everytime Ashleigh tried to help her with something and she was constantly whining so I saw the water bottle sitting there on the kitchen bench ........ you can imagine the thoughts running through my head "should I, shouldn't I?".

Here is my confession ..... I did it!! I sprayed her on her chest - at least I didn't aim for her face - I get points for that don't I? This is the horrible, desperate things I do when I have had 3 nights of no sleep!!

So there's my confession - I'm a horrible mother but I tell ya - it shut her up too!!

Long live the spray water bottle!

Took some photos of the girls at bath time tonight. Thought I'd post then on my blog - just in case you'd forgotten what they look like!

Lauren is turning into a real little girl - she's losing that baby look.

Bossy .....

Update .....

Lauren is MUCH BETTER today. She's back to bossing us all around - she's sick, I'll humour her!

Not sure what's for dinner tonight. Aaron's working til midnight and I hate cooking a big meal just for me and the girls - call me lazy!

Must run - got lots of housework to catch up on before Lauren wakes up from her day sleep!

Bye for now!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Not Well!

We found out today that Lauren has pneumonia. She was fine the last few days and then all of a sudden she started vomiting yesterday afternoon. She was vomiting all last night so I took her to the doctor today and he sent her off to get a chest x-ray. Needless to say the results came back indicating pneumonia. She has a semi-collapsed left lung.

We have to keep an eye on her over the next 24 hours and if she doesn't improve we need to take her to the hospital.

I can't believe how sick this kid has been lately. The poor thing seems to catch one thing after another. That's what pre-school does for you I guess.

Anyway, not much else going on at the moment - can't go out cos Lauren's sick. Looks like it's going to be another slow week this week.

Photos

Not much to blog about so I thought I'd post a couple of photos. Here is a photo of Lauren taken today - she had a crazy hair day at pre-school today. It's not very clear but she has 4 ponytails on the top of her head and another one at the back. She thought it was great!!

That's it for now! Until next time ......

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

We had a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday we drove to Lakemba to drop off some stuff for Aaron's work and then we drove to Hurstville to drop off some more stuff. At last it's out of our garage and I get my garage back!

While we were in Hurstville we drove past my Nan's old house. It's amazing how different it looks now! I almost didn't recognise it - it still brought back fond memories! Nan was basically the only grandparent I had for a long time. And no matter how selfish people can get in their old age they're still your grand parents and you love them unconditionally!

On Sunday we helped Belinda move house. It was a harsh reminder of what we are going to have to go through in a few months time ourselves. Not looking forward to it!!

How hot was the weekend? Saturday was 25 degrees and Sunday was 24 degrees! Fantastic weather!! We were all dressed in t-shirts.

Below is a photo of Ash in bed asleep last night. She absolutely loves the felt board Nana gave her! She even falls asleep playing with it! Who would have thought that something so simple would provide so many hours of entertainment for the kid!??

Anyway, I've got a pretty quiet day today. I'm going to the movies with a friend tonight - can't wait! Have a great week everyone!

Long Time No Communicate!

Apologies for not blogging this week. I've had one sick kid after another! It has been a HORRIBLE winter for us this year! We seem to have caught everything that's going around! Poor Lauren has been consistently sick for the past 6 weeks! It's because she started Pre-School 2 months ago and she's being exposed to all the nasties out there!

Aaron's been traveling interstate a lot lately so I've been stripping beds at 2 o'clock in the morning from vomit and trying to console Lauren crying all on my own. NOT FUN!! I really missed him this week. I honestly don't know how single parents do it on their own!

Needless to say, whenever I've had a quiet moment this week I've been sleeping - trying to catch up on my missed hours sleep during the night!

Lauren's still not well. She has a high temperature and has been really clingy. She's on antibiotics but they are taking their time to work!

Ashleigh is doing well. She has been such a big help this week. She's been taking vomit towels to the laundry for me and been a tremendous help - all without complaint! She's such a good girl.

In other, more exciting news, we are booking our flights to New Zealand next week for Amanda's wedding - yep, at long last I get to go on a holiday!! I'm so looking forward to it! Can't Wait!!

Nana's visiting with us from New Zealand. She brought lots of pressies for us which was really nice. Ashleigh loves the animal felt board that she got and the skirt. We went around to visit Nana and Belinda yesterday and Ashleigh was very excited to see "HER Nana" again! She still calls our spare room "Nana's room" from when Nana stayed with us just after Lauren was born. We're looking forward to seeing her again on the weekend when we help Belinda move house! I'll try to remember to take photos!

I told my cousin today that Aaron is part polynesian - she didn't believe me! I guess it's his pale skin and lack of kiwi accent that makes it hard to believe.

Anyway, Lauren has just started coughing in her bed so I'd better go and rescue her before she coughs so much that she vomits again. There is NOTHING worse than vomit! Grose!

Bye for now!

Is It the Weekend Yet???

I'm enjoying a day at home by myself today. Ashleigh's back at school after having 3 days off sick and Lauren's at Kindy. I've been for a walk and cleaned the house. Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

Latest song I downloaded: Elton John's Your Song.

Book I'm reading at the moment: The Secret - a couple of people have told me I must read it so I'm giving it a go.

Dinner tonight: Going out for dinner tonight - not sure where, Aaron's organising it. Very excited!! It means I don't have to cook!

Tomorrow: Nothing planned yet. Aaron's flying to Melbourne for the day.

What I'm thinking right now: I REALLY, REALLY want a new car - Ford Focus, either in a dusty blue or silver.

What I'm listening to right now: The news on tv - bridge collapse in Mississippi. Scary!

Well, I'm gonna go and have a shower and do my hair for the first time in 2 days!

I'll leave you with a couple of photos:

This is a photo of the girls in their pjs

This is a photo of Ashleigh's freaky socks - kinda like gloves for your toes!

This one Ashleigh took of herself - she loves taking photos and who better to photograph than yourself right!?!?
