As you can see, Lauren got into my lipstick the other day. Very attractive!!

I'm Grumpy Now.

Lauren has started this new thing where she stands or sits with her arms crossed and says

"I'm grumpy now".

Along with this expression .....



I can't help but laugh when she does it. She's such a cack!


I've been cleaning walls today. Since we moved into this rental property the walls have been driving me nuts. They are so dirty and the house always feels messy so I started sugar soaping the walls today and they look so much better! I've only done half the house, got the other half to go.

I really want to paint Ashleigh's bedroom too but I'm not sure if I have the confidence to do it on my own - I know Aaron won't be keen to help me do it. He is totally against enhancing houses we rent - he figures, it's not our house so why make it look better. Forget the fact that we have to live in it.

I'll feel so much better if I paint her room. There are patches on the walls in all different colours it looks horrible. I'm all for consistency!

Anyway, I'd better go and get dinner started. Lauren's going to start complaining soon and I don't want to make her GRUMPY NOW!!!

Happy Birthday!

I had a REALLY good birthday this year.

Lots of nice pressies.

And a great night out with the family.

Aaron did an excellent job organising my birthday dinner - especially as he had to do it all from Perth!

We had all the family including the Bailey's there which was REALLY nice! We don't get together often so it was great to have everybody there to help me celebrate my birthday.

It all started with Aaron arriving home from Perth the night before (Thursday). He had been away for 5 days and I was REALLY missing him so it was nice to have him home.

Then on Friday I got to sleep in while Aaron got Ash ready for school. The girls came in to my room and wished me a happy birthday and gave me their birthday pressies which were magazines and make up.

Aaron then took me shopping for my birthday present (a colour printer) up at the shops but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock. But that's OK, we had lunch at a lovely cafe and had a really nice day together with Lauren.

When we got home from the shops I found this at the front door .....


They were from a good friend of mine Emma and Adam! Thanks guys! I love lillies!!

Then we had dinner at Tasty Thai - my favourite Thai restaurant - and it's local too so we didn't have to go too far.

After dinner everyone came back to our house for cake and ice cream.



Overall, I had a great day - one I will remember for a long time. Thanks to my wonderful hubby for organising everything. He really outdid himself.

Oh and I also got to go to Ikea on Saturday and we managed to find a shop that sold the colour printer I wanted - and they had it in stock!!! YIPEE!!

Interesting Day .....

I had a very interesting day today.

I had to babysit Georgia today as she wasn't feeling well and Jodie had to work. She didn't need much babysitting. She sat on the lounge most of the day - easiest babysitting job ever!!

She gave me a bit of a scare this afternoon though. At about 4pm she started breathing really shallow and started crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said the 4 words you never want to hear from a sick child "I can't breathe properly". She wasn't getting much air in to her lungs so I ran next door, asked our neighbour to look after Lauren and Ash while I raced her to the doctor.

As it turned out she had a severe asthma attack. I have never been so scared in my life! It's really scary when a kid has an asthma attack - especially when you have NO IDEA what you're doing!!

I am quite happy with it. Aaron likes it too which is always a good thing!


Anyway, I hope you all have a great night! Aaron's working tonight so I'm going to put the girls to bed soon and sit down to watch Lost!!

Hurricane Katrina

These pictures were taken by a man in Magee, MS where the eye of the storm passed thru - what an experience.

Magee is 150 miles North of Waveland, Mississippi where the Hurricane hit.

Pretty incredible. It's amazing what mother nature can unleash ...

Productive Day!

I had a good day today.

Got a lot done!

I'm nearly finished the canvas I'm painting using greens. I'm loving it so far. I'll post photos when I'm done.

Well it's 8.20pm and both the girls are wide awake and Aaron's working late. I hate nights like this. I just want them to go to bed so I can relax and unwind. Lauren is refusing to go to her own bed to fall asleep. Instead she prefers to fall asleep on the lounge in front of the tv. I think that's why my back is killing me - having to carry to her bed once she's asleep!

I'm loving the new Madonna / Kanye West song "On The Beat Goes". I'm listening to it at the moment. It's so groovy! The girls love dancing to it too!

Anyway, I'm off to put the girls to bed and relax!
