Reflection ....

It amazes me how similar Ashleigh is to me.

Tonight when Ash and Lauren got out of the bath Ashleigh decided she would brush Lauren's hair and put it up in a ponytail (I'm amazed Lauren allowed her to go anywhere near her hair to be honest!). Then when we were sitting down eating dinner 10 minutes later she stopped and looked at Lauren's hair - admiring the fantastic job she had done she turned to me and said, "I think I did a really good job on Lauren's hair Mum".

I could see that would be something I would do - sit back and admire a job well done! Just the look of reflection on her face - priceless!

Well we had a busy weekend this weekend. Friday night we were supposed to go out for dinner with some friends of ours without the kids. I was really looking forward to it - sitting down and having a civilised dinner without having to wipe faces and hands and pick food up off kids laps but it wasn't to be. Lauren came down with a middle ear infection and had a temperature of 39.9 degrees so we had to cancel. I was so disappointed but that's the joys of having kids. We stayed home and watched DVDs instead because Ashleigh was at a friends house for a sleepover. We ended up having a good night anyway.

Saturday, we picked up Ash and had friends over for lunch. They arrived at midday and didn't leave until 5pm - we had too much to talk about!! Then we got a phone call from friends in Wollongong inviting us to go down and spend the night at their house - these are the friends we were supposed to go out with on Friday night so we packed our bags in 10 minutes flat and drove down Sat night.

Sunday morning we were woken by a knock on our door by Deb asking if Aaron would go and rescue some cows that had escaped out of a fence on their mother's farm. So he got dressed and drove out into the pouring rain running around a paddock chasing cows back through the fence - I wish I could have seen it!!

Sunday afternoon we went to a friends daughter's baptism in Wollongong. It was a lovely day - Aaron was exhausted but it was fun.

Today Ashleigh sang some Christmas carols at the local shops with her class. They did such a great job. Really got us into the Christmas spirit.

We still don't have the internet up on our main computer so I can't post any photos but I'm hoping it's fixed this week.

Enjoy this last week leading up to Christmas everyone!
