Time Out!

We had a bit of a tough morning this morning lots of tears and tantrums - and that was just the first hour of the day! It's days like this I am extremely grateful for school! I sent Ashleigh to the corner this morning - "pick a corner and go and sit in it!" I said! So, she chose a tiny corner in the kitchen and not 30 seconds later her little sister found her and decided to give her a hug - how gorgeous!!

Halfway through my canvas - very excited!! Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow so I will post photos of it when it's done!!

Crazy Kidz!!

Started painting my canvases today - YIPPEE! I still don't know what I'm going to do with them - hopefully I'll get some inspiration before Saturday!

Here is a photo of our crazy kid Lauren! She is a BIG girl now! We bought her a booster seat for the dinner table so now she can sit at the big table with the rest of us!

Ashleigh has been going crazy with some play make-up I bought for her last week - BIG MISTAKE!! As you can see she does a fabulous job on her lipstick!

I let Ash take a few photos - here is some of her work:

To finish - here is a photo of the girls hugging! Aren't they gorgeous!!

Weebles Wobble!

Isn't she a cutie. Another photo of Lauren in the same clothes as Ashleigh's doll! Ashleigh is obssessed with dressing the same as everyone - even her dolls!

I went to a candle party yesterday afternoon and those of you who know me, know that I LOVE candles! So I was in my element! I was quite restrained and only bought one small candle but I've got a list here to hand onto Aaron for Mother's Day - hehehehe! You've got to check these candles out - they are made by a company called Salt City and I am planning on having a party soon so I can get some free stuff!!

Not much going on this week which is good! I will definitely be painting my canvasses this week because my friend gets married this weekend!

I bought some gorgeous quilt covers for the girls beds - I got one for Lauren for when she goes into a big bed! They are gorgeous!! I can't wait to wash them and put them on!

Here is a photo of Lauren playing with her all-time favourite toy - Weebles!! She absolutely loves them! She dances along to the music and loves to watch them wobble around the 'town centre'. It's funny to see her playing with them!

Not much to report on today! My car is out of brakes - yes, you heard me right, out of brakes!! There's nothing left on them - I can't believe I let them get that bad! I didn't realise they were so bad until I got into the car yesterday morning and they made a horrible noise - I knew something was desperately wrong then! So I have got Mum's car today - thank goodness! Hopefully it won't cost me a fortune getting them replaced! Bit low on cash at the moment. I always mean to put money aside for a rainy day but never get around to it. I might make it a priority to do that next week!!

Haven't done much creating lately! I have been wanting to sit down and start my canvases for weeks now but still haven't gotten around to going and buying the paint!!

Lauren is sick at the moment - she was up all night the night before last with a bad head cold. She isn't much better today - very sooky and miserable! Hopefully she will get over it soon! I hate it when the kids are sick!

My little business is slowly getting there. The web design is on hold at the moment as my bro-in-law Abel is out of action at the moment - he has a good excuse though - new baby!! Speaking of which, Belinda and Jake are both doing well. They are home now and enjoying being back home I'm sure!!

Ashliegh is such a funny kid. She has now taken to dressing her dolls in the same clothes as Lauren! If she can't match Lauren then she's going to make her dolls match!! Here is a photo!

Monday ..... again!

Well, Belinda finally had her baby on the weekend! She had a little boy, weighing in at 9pounds 9ounces - OUCH!! He is a gorgeous little thing (kind of made me clucky for about a minute - then I came to my senses!!). His name is Jake William Haslet. What a shame I can't hand on my baby girls clothes! He would look a bit funny in pink!! Congratulations guys!!

Not much is going on with us at the moment. We had a pretty full on weekend but now we're getting back to normal. Ashleigh has her first mufty day tomorrow! It's Harmony Day tomorrow - I have no idea what it's all about - I must look it up on the web so I'm in the loop!

Aaron is going to be working long hours this week so we won't get to see much of him but the money will come in handy!

We saw Narnia on the weekend - quite enjoyed it. The computer graphics weren't great but it was still watchable! Ashleigh was absolutely distraught in one part and I had to keep consoling her - oh the tears!!

I am loving this rain!! I hope it continues for a while. Anyway, I must run - I have to type up the agenda for the next P&C meeting! Yay - what fun!

Here is a photo of Lauren asleep in her bed - she sleeps in the most bizarre positions!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

What a gorgeous day it is today!!! The sun is shining and there is a pleasant cool breeze! No humidity today which is a nice change.

It's been a nice quiet day today. Done some housework (nothing too strenuous), did some grocery shopping and have managed to get through some filing!

Belinda is now being induced tomorrow (Saturday). There was a bit of a stuff up at the hospital and they had to move her to Saturday rather than Thursday. I'm sure she wasn't too happy! Good Luck Belinda!

I am going to start painting again next week. I can't wait! I've got two huge canvases to paint and I can't wait to get stuck into them! I hope they turn out OK! I love painting but don't seem to get the time to do it. The kids always want to paint with me and it's hard to say no to them so I try not to do it in front of them.

We are going to Parklea markets tomorrow morning. I need to get some shoes for Lauren and some odds and ends but the main reason why we're going is because I want to get two pictures framed and apparently they have a really cheap framer at Parklea!

It's my big bro's birthday tomorrow - he is turning 36!! Happy Birthday Todd!! Old fart!! hehehehe. It's also my sister-in-law's birthday tomorrow - HaPpY BiRtHdAy AmAnDa! Hope you both have a great day!!

Anyway, that's it for me today. Not much to report on today! Hope you all enjoy this gorgeous weather!

I'll close this little excerpt with a quote from the amazing Mattie Stepanek titled 'Making Real Sense of the Senses' (the inspirational little boy who was interviewed by Oprah many times).

"Our eyes are for looking at things, but they are also for crying when we are very happy or very sad. Our ears are for listening, but so are our hearts. Our noses are for smelling food, but also the wind and the grass and if we try very hard, butterflies. Our hands are for feeling, but also for hugging and touching so gently. Our mouths and tongues are for tasting, but also for saying words, like"I love you," and"Thank You, God for all of these things."

School Dance

Well, Ashleigh had a great time at her very first school dance last night. She looked like a little princess and loved dressing up. She danced every dance and had a really good time. When I went to pick her up she was a lather of perspiration! She danced the bus stop and the macareena (not sure of spelling??) just to name a few!

Funny story, this morning when I was changing Lauren's pooey nappy Ashleigh came running in and got cranky at me for starting without her! I swear she is going to be a nurse when she grows up! She loves grose stuff like that! Whenever anybody cuts themselves or falls over she is the first one there with band aids at the ready!

Raindrops Keep Fallin on my Head!

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain hitting the roof! I love it when it rains - goodness knows our garden needs it! Lucky I did all my washing yesterday!! I don't know why I like the rain so much because I HATE driving in it! I love being at home when it rains - as long as I don't have to go out in it!

Well, not much is going on at the moment. I had a stomach virus on Monday night and all day yesterday (felt horrible!). Today I am much better and was able to move around and do something. I hate being sick, it stops you from doing so much!

Belinda (my sister-in-law) is going in to get induced tomorrow morning at 7.30am. It's going to be exciting to see if she has a boy or girl! Fingers crossed everything goes well - I'm sure it will, she's done it all before - this is her second child.

I was given the grand hand-over today from the President of the P&C. I am now officially the P&C Secretary!! Yippee for me - NOT!! I guess it won't be that bad. I've never done this sort of thing before but it will be good to get an inside look at how things work at school! I just hope I haven't got myself in too deep! We'll see over the coming months!

Ashleigh has her first school dance tonight. I don't know who's more excited - her or me! I am going to take lots of photos! I just hope she remembers all the dances she has been practicing for it! I'll let you know how it goes.

Hooray Autumn Already!

Can you believe we are almost halfway through March already? Where has the time gone?? I love that it is Autumn now - hopefully the weather will start to cool down and we can stop using the air conditioner! I love the cooler weather - snuggling up, wearing daggy track suits and nice warm dinners!!

Our garden has started flowering gorgeous white flowers - they come out in Autumn and look fantastic! I really want to buy a frangipani tree to put in a large pot out the back. I love the colour and smell of frangipanis!

I am trying to get into the spirit of Easter this year! I never really do anything special for Easter but this year I would like to decorate my house with simple things to remind us of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to know and understand the true meaning of Easter (follow this link to find out more). I will take photos as the time gets closer to show you my progress!

Here is a photo of the girls ..... we just adore them!!

Puss Cat, Puss Cat What's In Your Dish?

Look at our gorgeous cat Thomas!! He has finally started to settle down. I can remember when we first bought him, he was a pain in the neck. It was like having another baby in the house!! Lauren absolutely adores him though! She pulls his tail, uses him as a pillow, pulls his fur and gets him in a choke hold and he just sits there and takes it!! He is so good with her. Lauren was only 6 months old when we bought Thomas home so they have grown up together! Lauren would be lost without him! I know a lot of people would call me crazy for saying this but since we bought Thomas we don't get sick half as much as we used to. I've heard that having a cat around stops people from getting sick as often. Thank goodness!!

Here is a photo of Lauren with Thomas when they were both babies!

Once There Was a Ladybird

Ashleigh took great delight in finding a ladybird in with the lettuce we bought at the shops today. It fascinated her and she wanted to keep it. She wanted to make a little home for it in her bedroom. I had to explain to her that ladybirds belonged outside in the grass!!
