What a Fantastic Day!

Having a great day today. The weather is absolutely gorgeous. The sun is shining and the weather is just right - not too hot, not too cold.

I've done two loads of washing, gone for a walk with Lauren and read a bit.

No plans yet for the weekend. Saturday night we're going to the school social - picnic on the school grounds with games, showbags etc and topped off with fireworks! Should be a good night! Other than that just another quiet one at home.

The Tooth Fairy

Well Ashleigh is going to get a visit from the Tooth Fairy tonight - she lost her very first tooth this afternoon.

We were sitting down eating dinner and she kept complaining that she couldn't eat properly because her tooth was sore and when we had a close look we saw that her tooth was REALLY wobbly.

So, Daddy told Ash that he could pull it out quickly and with a tissue and one hard yank later her tooth was out!

You should have seen her face!

Absolute SHOCK!

She wasn't sure whether to laugh or to cry. Happy she lost her very first tooth but sad because it hurt!

Here is Ash pre-tooth falling out ....

And here she is after her tooth fell out ...

Only a mere half a centimeter big - it's tiny!!

Here are the girls with their new hair cuts!!

Wednesday!

I am so glad for this cooler weather!!! I HATE the heat! I love snuggling up in warm clothes, drinking hot chocolate and reading a good book!

I HATE sitting in the lounge sweating like a pig and sticking to it when I get up! Gimme the cooler weather any day! I LOVE IT!!

I had to go out and get some winter clothes for Ashleigh yesterday because she's growing up so fast!

I caved yesterday and got the girls hair cut. Ashleigh now has a cute little bob (this hair style REALLY suits her) and Lauren now has a nice, straight hair line! I'm so glad I got it done. I've been putting it off, wanting to grow their hair because I always loved having long hair myself when I was a little girl. I'll post photos tonight when I've taken photos of them!

Can somebody tell me why tracksuits are so darned expensive??? I cannot believe the cost of tracksuits these days! It costs nearly $80 for something to dag around the house in! Please explain!?!?!!

I have a pretty easy day today. Still getting over this horrible head cold. I'm going to take it easy and just do what needs to be done.

I've got a Lavender Vanilla candle burning in the background and it smells fantastic!! I highly recommend it to anyone!

Well it's Wednesday today - this means good tv night tonight!! Something to look forward to!

Anyway, I'm off to have a shower and try to make myself feel half decent!

Head Colds Suck!!

What more can I say? All 4 of us have a head cold at the moment and I can honestly say - it's horrible!

Lauren and Ash are at the end of their colds but Aaron and I have only just got it.

I've never had so much vitamin c in all my life!

I just want to sleep all day but of course with kids that can't happen.

The thing that annoys me is that the girls don't want to sleep!! I'm amazed at how tired i am when I've got a cold but Lauren is running around like a maniac! Unfortunately the cold medicine reacts with her and sends her hyperactive! But if we don't give her the medicine she's all blocked up and can't sleep because she can't breathe.

Hopefully we'll all be feeling better soon! Here is a photo of Ash and I. She's growing up so fast!

Bye for now!

How Come ..... ??!!

Funny Ashleigh comment for today .....

Ash: "What's for dinner tonight?"

Daddy: "Fish"

Ash: "Yuck, I'll just have salad"

Daddy: "Fish is good for you - it keeps you skinny"

Ash: "Then how come you're so fat?"

This is what you get for trying to help. Daddy was trying to feed Lauren but she wanted to do it herself - "Back away Daddy. I'm old enough to do it myself!"

And of course Thomas the cat!

Pucker up buttercup!!

Long Haired Lauren!

Not much happening today. Catching up on housework and running the show while Aaron's in Melbourne!

Here are some photos of Lauren. Her hair is getting so long now so I thought I'd take some photos. Aaron keeps telling me to get it cut but I want to grow it for when she goes to school. I want her hair to be long enough to pull back into a ponytail - otherwise her curly hair will be hard to do anything with!

Desperate Housewife!

Well, it's Monday night and I forgot to have family home evening again!!

Oh well.

Lauren's already in bed fast asleep which is great and Ashleigh is watching tv so I thought I'd take advantage of the quietness and blog!

My fave show is on tonight - Desperate Housewives - the big one tonight - 2 people die apparently. It's a shame I'm on a diet otherwise I'd sit down and watch it with a big tub of ice cream!

Aaron's off to Melbourne tomorrow for 3 days which I'm kind of looking forward to I must admit. I get to watch what I want to watch on tv!! CSI, McLeods Daughters, Medium and Heroes!!

I'm kinda peeved that he's going to go and see a movie while he's in Melbourne that I wanted to see too but I'll have to arrange a girls night out and go and see it without him! I can't even remember the name of the movie - it's the one with John Travolta and Tim Allen etc. It looks hilarious!

I'm on a mission to lose weight again! I have put on so much weight these past few months and I'm determined to lose it before Easter (so I can put it all back on again! NOT!!)

No photos this time - I haven't taken any!

Until next time .......

Ashleigh's Wobbly Tooth

Ashleigh was very excited last night - she got her very first wobbly tooth.

She has watched as all her friends at school have lost and got new teeth and has been hanging to get a wobbly tooth of her own and now she has two!! Her two bottom teeth are wobbly and she's so excited!

We are trying to toilet train Lauren at the moment with not much success. At least we can now get undies on her. Here she is in her "big girl pants". She would only wear them if she could see Ashleigh's big girl pants.

I took some pictures of the girls mucking around today.

Aaron's at work today and I've got Jodie and the kids coming over for lunch then we're off to Mum and Dad's for Todd's birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday Aunty Mandy!!! We hope you have a great day!

How's a kid supposed to learn!?!!

I made a promise to myself that when my second child was born I WOULDN'T buy her something everytime we went shopping - not even a 50 cent chuppa chup!

I think that's where I went wrong with Ashleigh - now everytime we go shopping she expects to get something.

But how am I supposed to teach Lauren that everytime we go shopping it doesn't mean she'll get something when shopkeepers give her stuff because "she's so adorable"?

We just got home from the shops and she was given a pink handbag by the shopkeeper just because "she's so adorable"!

She gets given stuff all the time - anything from a lollypop to small teddy bears and handbags!

She gladly takes it too!!!

Here she is with her new handbag!

Insanely Tired!

Lauren decided to wake up at 4.30am this morning and woke the whole family.
Believe it or not she refused to have a daytime sleep.
Tried to put her to bed 3 times today with no luck.
I'm insanely tired and am just about ready to give her away!

Arrggghhh!

Needless to say it's going to be an early night for bed for all of us!!

A Whole Lot of Nothing!

I seem to have so much to do lately. I'm running around busy doing stuff but feel like I'm accomplishing nothing!

Here's a list of things I did today to prove I actually did something:
  • Dropped Ash off at school
  • Went to the hair dresser to get my hair cut (about time I say!)
  • Went straight to work after that and got A LOT done!
  • Left work and picked Ash up from school
  • Got home and cleaned
  • Answered some emails
  • Entertained the girls for a little bit
  • Cooked a roast dinner
  • Bathed the girls
  • Cleaned kitchen after our delicious dinner
  • Put girls to bed, read books etc
  • Ironed about 9 shirts and kids clothes

So, there you go, a busy day but still lots more to do. Tomorrow's list:

  • vacuum house
  • clean floor
  • go grocery shopping (hating this job at the moment - takes up so much time)
  • organise a Salt City Candle party for a friend of a friend
  • post off stuff I sold on eBay
  • find birthday presents for Todd, Jake and Amanda (their birthday's are all on the same day - 18th March!!)
  • sell my left leg so I can afford to buy presents for family! Just kidding!

And I'm sure there's much more but I'm too tired to think about it.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!!

Advance Australia Fair!!

A friend from America sent me this email and I found it quite thought provoking. Tell me what you think!! It's long but worth reading.

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said .

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."

"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia ." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi- cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."

"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!"

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."

"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."

"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.

"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."

"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."

Sometimes it just takes one ...

I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband whom I love so much.

I believe in him.

Sometimes it just takes one person to believe in you for you to succeed.
